"God is like a mirror. The mirror never changes,
but everybody who looks at it sees something different."
Rabbi Harold Kushner
God is Like a Mirror
God is like a mirror: shining brightly and always ready to reflect the Truth.
God is like a mirror: seeing the best in all that stand before it.
God is
like a mirror: full reflection but without judgment.
And, because I have been made in the spiritual image and likeness of God, I am able to shine brightly, reflect the Truth, see the best in myself and others and experience life fully and without judgment.
When an object is placed in front of a mirror, the image of that object is seen in the mirror. When I look in my mirror,
I see God looking back at me.
- God is like a mirror: a polished surface that reflects light so I can see MY Light.
- God is like a mirror: a resource giving me the opportunity to perfect my image through the choices I make and the behaviors Ichoose.
- God is like a mirror: a reflecting glass that shows me who you really are.
Mirrors are my friends. They reveal God's grace by confirming my existence. They reveal God's peace through my
posture. They reveal God's joy through my smile. They reveal God's wisdom through my intense gaze. They reveal God's presence through my calm confidence.
Mirrors never change. They tell the Truth.
- I look in the mirror today and comb through the dead thoughts in my mind; it's time for them to go. I choose healthy, wholesome thoughts.
- I look in the mirror and brush the mean words out of my mouth; I have argued
enough. I speak kindly to others - and to myself.
- I look in the mirror today and remove the old stories and false beliefs that I've been wearing since high school or college. I have a new way of showing up in the world and it's all God.
- I look in the mirror today and let go of yesterday's ill-fitting behaviors. My actions reflect Oneness with God.
God is like a mirror, affirming my chances ... and my choices.
And for
that, I am grateful.
I step into the flow of Goodness and see God in it all.
And so it is.
